Connection Reset Error

This message is generic. It only means the connection dropped - it does not tell you why. The real cause is usually in your client log, or it’s simply that you can’t reach the server (server offline, or your internet can’t connect).

What to check

1. Is the server up? Check moddedmc.net/servers and Discord. If it’s offline or restarting, wait and try again.
2. Is your internet working? Open a website, try another online game, or switch Wi-Fi / use a hotspot. Unstable or blocked connections often show up as Connection reset.
3. Read the log. Open your instance logs/latest.log, search for the disconnect time, and look at the lines above Connection reset. That is where the real error usually is (mod crash, kick, timeout, etc.).

If you still can’t connect

• Restart Minecraft, then your router (unplug 30 seconds), then your PC.
• Turn off VPN/proxy and retry.
• Flush DNS. If the hostname won’t resolve, try Cloudflare DNS (1.1.1.1 / 1.0.0.1).
• Allow Java and your launcher through firewall/antivirus.
• Confirm you’re on the correct modpack version from the server page.

Need help?

In Discord, send the error screenshot plus latest.log (not just “Connection reset”). Without the log, staff usually can’t see the real issue.
