Automation Guidelines
These guidelines help keep the servers running smoothly for everyone. Most setups are completely fine; we just ask players to be thoughtful about how much is running at once and how often it ticks.
If staff asks you to scale something back, it is not meant as a punishment. It is usually because a build is creating more server load than it looks like from the outside.
Cobblemon Pastures
Try to stay around 3 pastures max. Each pasture can hold 16 Pokemon, and every Pokemon inside is constantly ticking. A few pastures are fine, but large pasture setups add up quickly.
Applied Energistics Growth Accelerators
Please avoid using too many. These create ticking grids inside the AE system and can add a lot of overhead. Try to keep it under 10. Reliquary lilypads are a good alternative for crop growth.
Botany Pots
Botany Pots are fine early game, but they are not ideal long term. Large numbers of them create many ticking block entities, so please move toward Mystical Agriculture or other farming methods as you progress.
Applied Energistics Storage Buses
Try not to use storage buses on large inventories. When the system refreshes, it scans every slot in connected containers, which can cause lag when many large inventories are attached.
General Automation
The bigger your farms and systems get, the more logic runs every server tick. Keep builds efficient, avoid runaway systems, and respect staff requests if something needs to be adjusted.
Ask Before It Becomes a Problem
If you are unsure whether a setup is okay, open a support ticket on Discord. We would much rather help you tune a build early than ask you to tear something apart later.
